Mission

To enhance the business vitality of the vista area of columbia, sc. This area is generally defined as the area between the state capital building and the congaree river. This area was in the past a declining warehouse district; now it is a vibrant part of the city.

Major Activities

Activity 2
The guild organized and funded a fall festival named viva la vista. The vista tourist destination includes more than 55 restaurants, bars, and cafes. These businesses generate a large percentage of the local hospitality tax, a portion of which is returned to the guild in the form of an annual grant. Viva la vista featured a taste of the food and drink available from these businesses in a street festival environment. This event further promoted the entire vista area as an attractive place to visit, shop, enjoy the arts and museum, and dine on a variety of world-class cuisine.
Activity 3
The guild organized and funded vista lights, an annual event which takes place the thursday before thanksgiving and kicks off the holiday shopping season in the congaree vista district. Tri-state print, television, and radio advertising drew shoppers to the district where they enjoyed entertainment, holiday decorations, and a festive atmosphere. Nearly all vista merchants participated in this event.
