“The mission of the community resource center is to serve individuals and families in need by offering effective programs that improve their lives, promote volunteerism and enhance the welfare of the manchester community. The community resource center was organized in 1987 to coordinate the various needs of the manchester community with services and resources for those recently unemployed when a major production facility closed. The community resource center continues to provide direct assistance as well as referrals to low-income households, access to technology for those seeking public benefits, employment and education and offers space to resource advocates bringing specialty services to our community.”

“During 2019, the community resource center provided 20 area households with direct and indirect financial assistance to avoid utility shut-off and eviction. Staff and volunteers positively impacted the lives of over 225 community members by providing direct application assistance for mibridges public benefits including snap, medicaid, childcare, ser, wic referrals, free volunteer income tax assistance, older adult services including mmap and meals on wheels referrals, transportation assistance, mental health counseling and more. The community resource center continues to partner with area agencies offering specialized resources by assisting with referrals and bringing staff onsite to provide those services for local residents.”

“In 2019, the community resource center food pantry assisted an average of 35 unique households each month by providing food (including frozen meat and fresh produce), personal care items, cleaning supplies and paper products. The food pantry services those in need of temporary or supportive resources for basic food and grocery help in our service area.”
