The tccvb website is the primary "call to action" in our advertising and promotion efforts. In 2011 we experienced an increase of 2.98% in web traffic to our traversecity.com web site. In the markets where we had our highest concentration of advertising and promotion efforts we experienced the following results in our web traffic: michigan increase of 2.43% illinois increase of 5.75% ohio increase of 13.49% indiana increase of 17.28% in addition to the web traffic results for 2011 the lodging assessments collected by the tccvb in 2011, which is a gauge of overall market lodging revenues, increased by 139.21% over 2010. This large increase is primarily due to the increase in the lodging assessment that took effect in april, 2011. If we compared the year-end assessments based on a 2 percent assessment the increase for 2011 over 2010 was 4.58%. In our group sales efforts, the tccvb generated 301 group leads for our member lodging properties in 2011. This was a 72 percent increase over the number of leads generated in 2010. Furthermore, 178 groups confirmed from the 301 leads in 2011 that will generate 14,073 room nights. Our visitor center assisted 66,851 visitors in 2011 offering assistance with information on things to see and do while in the traverse city area. This includes assisting in making lodging reservations as we have found a significant increase in visitors arriving in the destination without having made lodging reservations the tccvb produces a variety of marketing collateral pieces to promote our destination with the primary marketing tool being our annual traverse city area guide. In 2011 we produced and distributed 320,000 of these magazines to consumers interested in receiving information about the traverse city area. In 2011 the tccvb was a major co-sponsor/producer of the winter wowfest event in february featuring ice and snow sculptures, outdoor winter competitive events, food and beverage events, musical entertainment and winter family recreation activities. The event attracts thousands of people to participate and enjoy the festival activities and has been a significant catalyst to increase overnight visits to our destination over this winter weekend.
