FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Ending homelessness one person at a time. The shelter association of washtenaw county provides temporary shelter and supportive services in a safe and caring environment and works with the community to allocate the necessary resources to meet the longer-term needs of the people currently experiencing homelessness.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

Housing programs - the shelter associations's housing programs consist of three separate programs. Shelter plus care (spc) is a section eight designed program that pays a rent subsidy. The client pays 1/3 of their income for rent and the subsidy pays the difference. These vouchers come with a service plan agreed to by the client. The tenant based voucher program (tbra) is a short term rental voucher intended for up to a 2 year subsidy to bridge the time someone is waiting for a section 8 voucher or for establishment of income. Homeless prevention and rapid re-housing program (hprp) is a two year federally funded program that provides rent and utility assistance to either keep people from losing their rental unit or to rapidly re house them following eviction.
