Mission

To provide comprehensive, high quality hospice services to meet medical, nursing, psychosocial and spiritual needs for individuals facing the last stages of life, as well as emotional care for their families and friends. To conduct continuing bereavement programs for the families and friends of hospice patients and others in the community. To support partnerships between the health care community and the people of the geographic areas served by hospice of lansing and ionia area hospice. To promote community education to foster awareness, participation, knowledge and understanding of the hospice concept of care among the public and health professions.

To provide hospice services for the terminally ill.

The 990 is received and reviewed for accuracy by the finance committee. The finance committee will approve the 990 or request clarification. Upon the approval of the finance committee, the 990 is made available to the full board. After any concers presented by the board are addressed, the executive director signs and files the return.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 12C

All directors are required to submit annual conflict of interest statements, which are reviewed by the board chair and filed by the executive assistant. Potential conflict of interest issues are discussed by the board and they decide, as a group, whether the issue merits any further action.

The board of directors, with input from a human resource committee, conducts a compensation study and employee valuation of the executive director. After deliberation by the full board, the board votes on the updated compensation package. A record of the meeting and decision of the board is retained by the organization.
