Activity 2

Dental program - intercare's dental program provides quality care to patients regardless of the patient's ability to pay. During the past year there were over 35,000 dental visits. Intercare provides dental and hygiene services at five clinics, on a mobile van, and in many elementary schools and head start programs.

Activity 3

Maternal infant health program (mihp) - intercare's mihp provides quality care to patients regardless of the patient's ability to pay. During the past year there were over 10,000 mihp visits. Intercare has been certified by the state of michigan to provide this special program for high risk pregnant women and infants on medicaid since 1989. Clients are referred to the program by physicians. Services include in-home nursing, nutrition counseling, and social work visits that address each individual's identified risk factors. The overall goal of the program is to improve pregnancy outcomes, reduce infant mortality rates, and improve early childhood development.
