Activity 2

Beaumont's mission extends beyond its campuses where it is a leader in providing outpatient health care services to all members of the community, including medicaid patients, underinsured patients and patients with no insurance at all. In 2012 alone, beaumont recorded 2,243,968 outpatient visits in its hospital outpatient and community facilities. Outpatient medical care is provided both in beaumont's hospital facilities and throughout southeast michigan through a network of community-based medical centers (some of which are open 365 days a year), including family practice and internal medicine practices; five nursing centers (located in different michigan communities); and an assisted-living facility. Beaumont also provides home care services to the community including nursing care, infusion, medical equipment and a hospice. All of the above outpatient services are provided to patients on a non discriminatory basis and irrespective of ability to pay.

Activity 3

The emergency care centers at beaumont hospitals are staffed and equipped to handle the most severe illnesses and injuries as well as minor traumas that require medical attention. Beaumont, royal oak is a level 1 trauma center designated by the american college of surgeons. Beaumont's emergency centers treated 235,098 patients in 2012 with 63,561 admissions from emergency visits. Beaumont provides these medical services regardless of the patient's ability to pay and treats everyone who comes to us for care regardless of their financial circumstances.
