Public policy - using a grass roots philosophy, volunteer members formulate current and emerging agricultural issues into areas of interest. Membership, with a unified voice, provides direction to the state organization. The state-wide organization then develops a local, state & national level strategy.

Form 990-ez, Part V, Line 34

Article iv - board of directors, sections 1 and 2, were amended to: section 1. Number of directors and basis of representation. The business, property and affairs of this corporation shall be managed by a board of directors not to exceed ten (10) in number. For the purpose of representation the county shall be divided into three (3) districts. Districts shall consist of the following townships respectively: district 1 - dayton, elkland, ellington, elmwood, fremont, kingston, koylton, novesta and wells townships district 2 - arbela, denmark, gilford, juniata, millington, tuscola, vassar, and watertown townships district 3 - akron, almer, columbia, fairgrove, indianfields, and wisner townships one director shall be elected from each district. In addition, there shall be five (5) directors elected at-large within the county. There shall be elected a representative nominated by the farm bureau promotion and education committee and a candidate shall be nominated and elected to represent the farm bureau young farmers. Section 2. Election of directors. Election of all directors shall be by vote of the membership at the county farm bureau annual meeting. Directors shall be known as district directors and directors at-large and shall be elected for three-year terms.

THE BUSINESS, PROPERTY AND AFFAIRS OF THIS CORPORATION SHALL BE MANAGED BY A BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOT TO EXCEED TEN (10) IN NUMBER. FOR THE PURPOSE OF REPRESENTATION THE COUNTY SHALL BE DIVIDED INTO THREE (3) DISTRICTS. DISTRICTS SHALL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING TOWNSHIPS RESPECTIVELY: DISTRICT 1 - DAYTON, ELKLAND, ELLINGTON, ELMWOOD, FREMONT, KINGSTON, KOYLTON, NOVESTA AND WELLS TOWNSHIPS DISTRICT 2 - ARBELA, DENMARK, GILFORD, JUNIATA, MILLINGTON, TUSCOLA, VASSAR, AND WATERTOWN TOWNSHIPS DISTRICT 3 - AKRON, ALMER, COLUMBIA, FAIRGROVE, INDIANFIELDS, AND WISNER TOWNSHIPS ONE DIRECTOR SHALL BE ELECTED FROM EACH DISTRICT. IN ADDITION, THERE SHALL BE FIVE (5) DIRECTORS ELECTED AT-LARGE WITHIN THE COUNTY. THERE SHALL BE ELECTED A REPRESENTATIVE NOMINATED BY THE FARM BUREAU PROMOTION AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE AND A CANDIDATE SHALL BE NOMINATED AND ELECTED TO REPRESENT THE FARM BUREAU YOUNG FARMERS. SECTION 2. ELECTION OF DIRECTORS. ELECTION OF ALL DIRECTORS SHALL BE BY VOTE OF THE MEMBERSHIP AT THE COUNTY FARM BUREAU ANNUAL MEETING. DIRECTORS SHALL BE KNOWN AS DISTRICT DIRECTORS AND DIRECTORS AT-LARGE AND SHALL BE ELECTED FOR THREE-YEAR TERMS.
