Shelter from the Rain is enriching the lives of women and children in need through acts of kindness and Christianity that nurture the mind, body and soul.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Support and encouragement to other moms that is great for building the spirit of a single mother. The Shelter from the Rain Mommy Meet up program allows moms to meet with other moms for motivational talks, exercise, or lunch while their children play. This group meets at: playgrounds, libraries, churches, and other safe, family-friendly environments. The Pantry Pal program is the collection of supplies for low-income single-parent homes. The Baby Bundles program helps provided needed items for newborns and toddlers. The following are items needed: diapers, baby wipes, baby powder, baby furniture, etc. Shelter From the Rain volunteers conduct practice interviews with mothers who are preparing for internships or full-time employment. Our volunteers help mothers format cover letters and resumes in Microsoft Word, practice interviewing, complete applications and use the Internet to search for jobs.$0$190
