Tricon is an organization as defined in internal revenue code section 501c6 and is therefore exempt from the payment of taxes on income, except for income, if any, unrelated to tricon's exempt purpose. Management has analyzed tax positions taken and believes that income tax filing positions will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. Tricon is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. Tricon believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to 2012.
