“One World Strong Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by terrorist attacks, hate crimes, and traumatic events. We provide compassionate, non-political and non-religious support to individuals and families, starting with early on-site intervention where possible, when the full weight of a new reality can be overwhelming. We then maintain long-term relationships to be there throughout the healing process, however long that takes. Our extensive network of partners enables us to respond to any terrorist attack, hate crime, or traumatic event-wherever they occur in the world-to support survivors and families who lost loved ones through their transition to a new reality. Our efforts in 2020 continued to include working with survivors of the attacks in London, Mogadishu, Idlib, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Newtown, Las Vegas, New York, Boston, Paris, Nice, Kosovo, Cameroon, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan and Jordan. Our Cameroon outreach effort is now actively working with survivors and is connected to available services through our US Embassy in Yaoundé. We also started discussions to open an outreach center in Istanbul, Turkey in early 2022. Our Somalia outreach program grew in 2020 - the sister city school pairing program between Qardho in Somalia and Boston in the U. S. has grown to be a part of a larger Department of State program called Invent to Prevent. High school students in each school have been working together virtually in teams during the school year to understand their differences, as well as similarities, in their education and communities. Many of these students from Qardho and Boston are now focused on prevention programs in their communities. Our efforts continued in 2020 with governments, agencies and civilian organizations throughout the world on deradicalization and awareness programs designed to prevent terrorist and extremist attacks globally.”
