“A. Supported Ecoversities Alliance : Total Grant: $96,292. The Ecoversities Alliance is a network of informal holistic universities and learning spaces around the world for youth and adult learners (many of who have left formal education). The Ecoversities are committed to reimagining education higher education and developing innovative models, pedagogies and tools which explore the expanded self, community living, ecological sustainability, social justice, the arts and creativity, reconnected to nature, alternative approaches to healing, social entrepreneurship. There are currently 300+ members across 40 countries. We supported 22 new startup ecoversity projects such as the Inner Companion Multiversity in India, Forest-versity in India, School of Creativity in India, Panippura Learning in India, Meduse in Italy, Recanto Do Fluxo in Brazil, Black Daddies Club in Canada, Communidad Ser in Ecuador, CEPROSI in Peru and Unitierra in Mexico. We supported the production of 18 new essays, podcast programs, and short films on important innovations in education. These were shared through a new Ecoversities Online Magazine. We supported an online international Conference on Reimagining Education with over 400 registered educators from around the world and 40 learning sessions. We were able to develop many partnerships with formal academic institutions and also social agencies. We supported two regional gatherings in India: one in Auroville and 2nd in Udaipur. We had more than 50 old and new members join. We supported 13 educational leaders to go for residencies between different Ecoversities members.The residencies were designed to encourage knowledge sharing and deepening of collaborations and new innovations. Supported Social Laboratories for the following Program: Total Grant: $51,500 Complexity University Project The Complexity University offers online courses and learning community to build complexity leadership. Through innovative learning by doing pedagogy, it seeks to equip learners with the tools, relationships and inner resources that are needed to be more effective in dealing with the world's most difficult challenges. We have supported learning scholarships for many of these courses. We supported the development of the innovative Complexity University Coaching Academy, including preparation of a new curriculum for coaching for complexity. We also piloted a training program for 20 fellows from India on how to support local teams to work on complex social challenges such as climate change. We supported 6 local teams in Bangalore (India), Vizag (India), Hawaii (USA), Baroda (India), QwaQwa (South Africa) and Canary Islands (Spain) to participate in the Gigatonne Climate Challenge to learn about Complexity Education and work on prototyping practical strategies to reduce climate emissions and improve the environmental and social equity in their cities. In aggregate, during this period teams reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 195 tonnes (CO2e), employing 381 people and providing benefits, primarily free food to 713 people. Supported the Shikshantar Sansthan in Udaipur for the following Program: Total Grant: $12,086 "Udaipur as a Learning City Project" The ULC incubates and nurtures several diverse learning spaces and sustainable living projects around the city as it creates opportunities for people of all ages to identify, deepen and share their passions, dreams and skills. It also highlights and regenerates local language, traditional knowledge systems, local media and learning resources and a feeling of community. It wishes to explore the deeper questions of happiness, progress, urban development, education and a good life with local citizens of the city. It supports innovative projects like the Swaraj University and Swaraj Jail University. Our activities in 2021 were limited by Covid protocols.
