Form 990, Part I, Line 1

Every american has the opportunity to be financially secure. A future where financial worries and stress all but disappear. Through the unique talents of actuaries, that dream can become a reality beginning today with math education. It is now more important than ever to harness the mathematical potential of our youth. Economic development and growth is contingent on indiviudals receiving a quality math education to ensure continued technological and scientific progress by making math more appealing to younger generations, we can inspire them to choose degrees and careers that will help them meaningfully contriubte to their communities and secure their financial well-being. Problem-solving skills are essential in a person's work and personal life. What teaches people to think critically and solve challenges? Math. Every day, in many ways, math impacts the world. That is why the actuarial foundation strives to equip the public with the tools it needs to make informed decisions and cultivate the next generation of math-skilled thinkers.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The foundation is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america (u.s. Gaap) require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the foundation and recognize a tax liability if the foundation has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service or other applicable taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the foundation, and has concluded that as of december 31, 2018 and 2017, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the financial statements.
