“The 990 is first reviewed by the Director of Finance, then the Executive Director, then by the Finance Committee which acts as the Audit Committee. Once the Finance Committee approves it, they bring it to the full board for review and approval. The Board then usually votes based on the recommendation of the Finance Committee. If they have questions, they will ask before voting on the recommendation.”

“FIN 48 Note from Audited Financial Statements Renaissance Social Services, Inc. was granted an exemption from federal income tax by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to the provisions of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). RSSI qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation under Section 509(a)(1). The tax exempt purpose of RSSI and the nature in which it operates is described above. Management's assertion is that are no uncertain tax positions and the Organization continues to operate in compliance with its tax-exempt purpose. The Organization's annual informational and income tax returns filed with the federal and state governments are subject to examination generally three years after they are filed.”

We provide them with ongoing supportive case management services which are individualized to meet the needs of the specific individual or family and are focused attaining a greater level of autonomy. Ultimately the goal is to enable the family or person to have the skills necessary to no longer need services from RSSI.To qualify for this program the head of household must be homeless and have a disability. Qualifying disabilities include Mental Health, Physical, HIV/AIDS and/or a Substance Induced Disorder. The disability must be of a long-continued duration, impedes ones ability to live independently, and be of a nature that could be improved by more suitable housing, or be from AIDs or conditions arising from its etiological effects.RSSI's team of case managers provides services which are tailored to meet the needs of the individual or family. Intensity of services is initially very intense when a client enters the program and less so as time passes and the client increases autonomy. Collaboration with the client is key for the process of increasing their self-determination, and goals and services are agreed upon jointly so everyone has a role in the delivery of services. |

The program utilizes a scattered site model and practices Housing First. FSP serves 45 families and over 120 total individuals. A visiting nurse with a pediatric specialty provides at-home primary care services (wound care, health education, vaccinations, etc.) and supported linkage to community-based integrated healthcare. Children in the program receive a set of educational supports as needed. |
