Our mission is to eliminate pediatric cancer while providing hope and support to those who are touched by it. Our vision is a world without pediatric cancer.Forty-three children are diagnosed with cancer daily, and pediatric cancer remains the leading cause of death from disease among children. Even so, less than 4% of the total federal funding spent on cancer research is directed toward the treatment of children. These statistics are staggering. At Bear Necessities, we are dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer research to ultimately discover a cure, while continuing to help patients and their families today, bringing hope and joy to those in need. We couldn't continue this critical work without the unwavering support of our donors. Thank you for all you do.
Our mission is to provide unparalleled hope and support to those touched by pediatric cancer. Our vision is a world without these devastating diseases.

“The finance committee reviews the 990 which is prepared by an outside accounting firm. The final version of the 990 is sent to all board members prior to the filing with the IRS.”
“Board members are required to disclose any potential conflicts on an annual basis, no conflicts have arisen to date.”
“The finance committee and the governance committee of the board of directors, of Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, jointly determine the compensation of the CEO/President of the organization. All members of these two committees are free of conflicts of interest and the group consists of a number of accomplished business leaders who are quite capable of independently determining compensation, for the organization's senior official(s). They use a number of factors in order to determine compensation: (1) their understanding of relevant compensation programs in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, (2) compensation surveys for nonprofit executives managing similar sized organizations provided by the industry employment and benefits consultants and (3) evaluation and performance metrics to judge the performance of the foundation.”
“Forms are available upon request.”
“The organization makes its governing documents, conflicts of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request.”
“The process has not changed from the prior year.”
“FIN 48 Note from Audited Financial Statement: The Foundation was granted an exemption from federal income taxes by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to the provisions of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The Foundation qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and has been classified as a Foundation that is not a private foundation under Section 509(a)(1). The tax-exempt purpose of the Foundation and the nature in which it operates is described above. Management believes the Foundation continues to operate in compliance with its tax-exempt purpose. The Foundation's annual information and income tax returns filed with the federal and state governments are subject to examination by the IRS, generally for three years after they were filed. The Foundation has adopted the requirements for accounting for uncertain tax positions and management has determined that it was not required to record a liability related to uncertain tax positions as of June 30, 2025.”

| IRS990/MissionDesc | 0 | Our mission is to eliminate pediatric cancer while providing hope and support to those who are touched by it. |
