The first two paragraphs of Article I Purposes were amended.Previous (1992) Article I Purposes: The purposes for which the corporation is organized are to provide professional alcoholism and substance abuse treatment to persons suffering from these diseases of addiction, even if these persons are unable to pay for the cost of such services.Such treatment is based on the belief that chemical dependency is a treatable illness, requiring abstinence from mood altering drugs; and the treatment techniques shall be in accordance with those generally accepted within the health care field. The organization recognizes the importance of participation by its clients, and their significant others, in peer support/self-help groups, and shall strongly encourage participation in Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and other such groups.Amended Purpose: ARTICLE I - PURPOSESThe purpose for which the corporation is organized is to provide substance use disorder treatment and related services such as but not limited to services for the prevention of substance use disorders and mental health services even if the recipient is unable to pay for the cost of such services.Such treatment is based on the belief that substance use and mental health disorders are treatable illnesses. The treatment techniques shall be in accordance with those generally accepted within the health care field. The organization recognizes the importance of participation by persons served, and their significant others, in peer support/self-help groups, and shall strongly encourage participation in Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, National Alliance for Mentally Ill, and other such groups.Please note: The organization provides mental health treatment services separately from prevention services.”

“Copies of the final 990 and schedules are reviewed by the executive director and the business manager prior to being filed with the irs. All board members are allowed to review the return individually, upon request.”

“On an annual basis the organization requires all of its board members and key employees to document and sign off on their continued adherence to the conflict-of-interest policy.”

“Compensation for the executive director is determined and approved by the full board of directors. The amount is based upon comparative data with similar organizations; as well as measuring the progress that was made on the corporation's board-approved, strategic plan.”

“Financial statements are made available to the public via internet access to previously-filed forms 990; and via submitted proposals and documents to the local united way agency.”
