Activity 2

National Community Tax Coalition - CEP serves as the parent organization for the National Community Tax Coalition (NCTC). NCTC is the nation's largest, most comprehensive membership organization for community-based organizations offering free tax and financial services to low-income families.For its 1,700 members, NCTC is the go-to source for information, training and resources; networking opportunities; and advocacy support. NCTC builds the capacity of the field to reach scale and sustain robust on-the-ground services and policy initiatives.

Activity 3

Financial Services - CEP offers low-income workers year-round financial coaching and workshops. In 2010, CEP provided a year-round financial counseling program in Chicago's Quad Communities and Lawndale to address the ongoing financial needs of the neighborhood's residents.Through its financial partnerships, CEP connected 1,500 individuals with financial products that helped them make the most of their tax refund.In 2010, CEP continued the second year of its Financial Aid U program, an initiative that links the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the tax preparation process. Through this initiative, CEP helped 800 families overcome one of the biggest obstacles for low-income students on the road to college success.
