Activity 2

Real estate development - this line of business has become an important means by which our organization helps enhance the quality and value of the housing stock in the core neighborhoods of lincoln. We completed several acquisition/rehab properties over the last year and currently have other properties underway. In addition, we have continued to work towards the completion of construction on townhomes in the antelope creek development.

Activity 3

Community building - we assumed primary responsibility for the lincoln free to grow program. This is a grassroots effort to focus neighborhoods on properties that are in need of improvement and the strategies to be used to obtain improvement with troubled properties thus allowing improved neighborhoods and improved social capital. We have taken an active role in creation of murals and other community art projects. We sponsored a neighborhood, university place, for resident leadership training. They attended the community leadership institute. Positive neighborhood activities were created to encourage citizen participation in the events. Nwl is the lead entity in the lincoln policy network, which meets on a monthly basis. During the last few years, lpn has emphasized the importance for the lincoln city council to approve usage of the international property maintenance code and the creation of a performance based inspection ordinance.
