“Anixter center has an audit committee responsible for the review of the annual audit and selection of the independent accounting firm. The committee has been in existence for a number of years with no change in responsibilities/processes from the prior year.”

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

“The organization is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, except for net income derived from unrelated business activities. In addition, the organization qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under section 170 and has been classified as an organization other than a private foundation under irc section 509(a). The organization's income tax filings are subject to audit by various taxing authorities generally for three years after filing. In evaluating the organization's activities, management believes its position of tax-exempt status is based upon current facts and circumstances and there have been no uncertain positions taken related to recording income taxes. In the opinion of management there are no activities unrelated to the purpose of the organization and therefore no tax is to be recognized.”
