Form 990, Part XI, Line 8

“The june 30 2019 audited financial statements noted a correction of error that resulted in an adjustment of unrestricted net assets at the beginning of the year. The organization had previously reported assets that belonged to the kansas soybean commission on their balance sheet. An adjustment was made to correct this error, by removing these fixed assets from the balance sheet. Furniture and equipment was reduced by $89,266 and accumulated depreciation was reduced by $64,011. The adjustment resulted in a -$25,254 decrease in beginning unrestricted assets.”

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

“The association is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(5) of the internal revenue code and has been classified as other than a private foundation by the internal revenue service. Income from advertising is not directly related to the association's tax-exempt purpose and is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. The association's policy is to evaluate uncertain tax positions annually. Management evaluated the association's tax positions and concluded that the association had taken no uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements.”
