Mission

Sponsorship of local running events,

The Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) is a non-profit organization committed to serving and advocating for the local running community. We are Chicagolands running club providing accessible opportunities for all runners to train, race, learn, be social and volunteer, providing sponsorship of local running events, health education clinics, awards presentations and other educational and support services.

“The Audit Committee and Executive Committee of the Chicago Area Runners Association Board of Directors reviewed the prepared Form 990 during August 2024, followed by a sign-off by the full Board of Directors also in August 2024. All bodies reviewed the data and had the opportunity to offer refinements to narrative language. Our accounting firm, Mazzoni and Associates, P.C., also reviewed these forms. The final Form 990 was submitted to the Internal Revenue Service shortly after review.
