The audit committee and board of directors take responsibility for audit oversight and for the financial statements by reviewing the statements every month. The process has not changed from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Tri-county opportunities council, as a charitable organization, is exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and similar provisions of state tax laws and has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation. The organization evaluates its uncertain tax positions on an annual basis, and there have been no recorded uncertain tax positions recorded in 2024, 2023, or 2022. Therefore, no provision or liability for income taxes has been included in the financial statements. The organization files various federal or state non profit tax returns. The organization is no longer subject to u.s. Federal or state examinations by tax authorities for tax years prior to 2021.
