Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

Due to the size of the organization, committees are not deemed necessary by the maxaid board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The tax return is prepared by an outside accountant. After preparation, the finance committee performs a review of the return. The return is then filed with the irs. A copy is provided to the board of directors prior to filing with the internal revenue service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

No review of compensation was required since no officers were paid by this organization. A related and supported organization, the max foundation, performs the annual review process for these individuals as applicable.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are provided upon request.

FORM 990, PART VI, LINES 12, 13 AND 14:

Maxaid follows the conflict of interest, document retention and whistleblower policies of its supported organization, the max foundation.

IRS990/Desc0FROM ITS LAUNCH, MAXAID HAS HOSTED THE MAX FOUNDATION'S COLLABORATION WITH NOVARTIS, A LEADING GLOBAL HEALTHCARE COMPANY, AROUND HUMANITARIAN ACCESS TO THEIR MEDICINES GLIVEC AND TASIGNA IN A JOINT INITIATIVE KNOWN AS CMLPATH TO CARE. IN 2017, THE COLLABORATION ENABLED THOUSANDS OF PATIENTS IN LOW AND MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRIES TO ACCESS MUCH NEEDED ONCOLOGY PRODUCTS THAT THEY WOULD NOT HAVE OTHERWISE BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS. ACCESS TO MEDICINES WAS ENABLED THROUGH THE MAX FOUNDATION'S PATIENT-CENTERED TREATMENT ACCESS MODEL KNOWN AS MAX ACCESS SOLUTIONS. IN THE CASE OF MAXAID, ONCOLOGY PRODUCTS WERE RECEIVED FROM THE DRUG MANUFACTURER NOVARTIS AND CHANNELED TO INIDVIDUAL PATIENTS VIA THE MAX FOUNDATION'S NETWORK OF HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS AND TREATMENT CENTERS.
