Mission

The nature of the business or purpose to be conducted or promoted is as follows: acquire, own, develop, hold, sell, lease, transfer, exchange, operate, and manage affordable housing projects, including any buildings and other improvements; obtain financing for any of the above type of real estate projects; provide direct assistance to families; foster low, affordable, moderate, mixed use, market rate and other type of housing; foster and stimulate economic development; play a key role in developing a new institutional infrastructure through which long term, affordable housing can be successfully produced, owned, and operated and communities made desirable.

The organization's financial statements are consolidated with its parent company's financial statements and, as such, the organization follows its parent company's oversight and selection process. There has been no change to the process.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Gulf coast housing partnership, inc. Has previously received notice from the internal revenue service of exemption from income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code ("irc"). Management has reviewed all of the entities where gchp has an ownership interest for any potential tax effects as of december 31, 2017 and 2016; gchp has determined that no tax expense or tax liability should be provided for in the consolidated financial statements of gchp. Gchp applies a "more-likely-than-not" recognition threshold for all tax uncertainties. This approach only allows the recognition of those tax benefits that have a greater than 50% likelihood of being sustained upon examination by the taxing authorities. As a result of implementing this approach, gchp has reviewed its tax positions and determined there were no outstanding or retroactive tax positions with less than a 50% likelihood of being sustained upon examination by the taxing authorities; therefore, the implementation of this standard has not had a material effect on gchp.

HAS PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED NOTICE FROM THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE OF EXEMPTION FROM INCOME TAX UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE ("IRC"). MANAGEMENT HAS REVIEWED ALL OF THE ENTITIES WHERE GCHP HAS AN OWNERSHIP INTEREST FOR ANY POTENTIAL TAX EFFECTS AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2017 AND 2016; GCHP HAS DETERMINED THAT NO TAX EXPENSE OR TAX LIABILITY SHOULD BE PROVIDED FOR IN THE CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS OF GCHP. GCHP APPLIES A "MORE-LIKELY-THAN-NOT" RECOGNITION THRESHOLD FOR ALL TAX UNCERTAINTIES. THIS APPROACH ONLY ALLOWS THE RECOGNITION OF THOSE TAX BENEFITS THAT HAVE A GREATER THAN 50% LIKELIHOOD OF BEING SUSTAINED UPON EXAMINATION BY THE TAXING AUTHORITIES. AS A RESULT OF IMPLEMENTING THIS APPROACH, GCHP HAS REVIEWED ITS TAX POSITIONS AND DETERMINED THERE WERE NO OUTSTANDING OR RETROACTIVE TAX POSITIONS WITH LESS THAN A 50% LIKELIHOOD OF BEING SUSTAINED UPON EXAMINATION BY THE TAXING AUTHORITIES; THEREFORE, THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS STANDARD HAS NOT HAD A MATERIAL EFFECT ON GCHP.
