“An independent accounting firm is engaged to assist with the preparation of this group form 990. The chief financial officer of each organization, with assistance from other executives and including finance, legal, compliance and government relations, provide all the financial data and other information for the reporting period necessary to complete the form 990. The chief financial officer and senior vice president of corporate finance & treasurer of memorial health services, the sole member of each organization, then review the form 990, with assistance from other executives as needed or appropriate. Finally, the form 990 is provided to each member of the memorialcare health system board of directors for review prior to a meeting of the board of directors, so that any questions or concerns can be addressed at the meeting of the board and prior to filing.”

In addition, an annual notice is sent to each employee to remind them of the organization's policy regarding the acceptance of gifts from vendors and others who do or seek to do business with the organization. LBM HAS BEEN A TEACHING HOSPITAL FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS, AND TRAINS RESIDENTS AND FELLOWS IN GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION THROUGH AFFILIATIONS WITH CALIFORNIA MEDICAL SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIC MEDICAL CENTERS. IN THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2024, LBM RECORDED 102,453 PATIENT DAYS, DISCHARGED 17,116 PATIENTS, PROVIDED 10,772 SURGICAL PROCEDURES, AND HAD 105,518 EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT VISITS. MEDICARE ELIGIBLE ACUTE CARE PATIENTS ACCOUNTED FOR 47% OF DISCHARGES AND MEDI-CAL ELIGIBLE ACUTE CARE PATIENTS ACCOUNTED FOR 31% OF ACUTE CARE DISCHARGES.MILLER IS A 357-BED PEDIATRIC TEACHING HOSPITAL, WHICH FEATURES EIGHT CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE, INCLUDING SEVEN MAJOR INPATIENT CARE CENTERS WITHIN THE HOSPITAL AND COMPREHENSIVE OUTPATIENT SPECIALTY CENTERS THAT FEATURE MORE THAN 30 SUB-SPECIALTIES.
