The People's Harm Reduction Alliance has a conflict of interestpolicy which is monitored and enforced. Board members are required toread and sign the policy before joining the Board of Directors. At oneboard meeting each quarter time is set aside to remind board membersof the conditions laid out in our conflict of interest policy andconfirm that no one on PHRA's governing body is in violation of theagreement.

IRS990/Desc0The People's Harm Reduction Alliance (PHRA) operates a syringe exchange program in Seattle's University District. Through this program PHRA provides injection drug users with the resources they need to avoid HIV and Hepatitis C infection, prevent death and lead healthier lives. Specifically, PHRA provides injection drug users with sterile syringes, eductation related to safer drug use practices, referrals to drug treatment and Naloxone, a lifesaving medication that can reverse opiate overdose. In 2014, 1,334,359 million sterile syringes were distributed through the University District needle exchange program through 6,866 individual interactions.In 2014 PHRA expanded the syringe exchange program to the East Cascades, WA where 39,170 syringes were exchanged through 189 individual interactions.In 2014 PHRA also assumed responsibility for the EGYHOP needle exchange program in WA state, exchanging 379,221 syringes through 4,043 individual interactions.
