“Awareness = prevention: the hope project has reached thousands through awareness events, panels and forums at high schools, churches, universities, radio and television, and community organizations. In 2019, we reached over 5,000 people through speaking engagements. Community response: we provide mentoring for female sex trafficking survivors and girls more vulverable to sex trafficking. We also provide case management, sponsor individual counseling, offer groups, and refer appropriately. We also chair the lakeshore human trafficking task force - local agencies providing a comprehensive response to human trafficking. We belong to the michigan human trafficking task force, muskegon lakeshore chamber of commerce, and are involved in many local organizations. We are a resource to west michigan agencies and local residents for statistics, training, and referrals on the issue of human trafficking. Hope village: the organization is in the process of refurbishing a rehabilitation home for female victims of sex trafficking, ages 11-17. We are in the process of completing the state licensing for the home, as well as raising the 6 months of operating expenses to open the home.”
