Mission

Build change's mission is to greatly reduce deaths, injuries and economic losses caused by housing collapses and school collapses due to earthquakes and typhoons in emerging nations.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Haiti program: build change began its haiti program following the catastrophic earthquake there on january 12, 2010. Initially, with funding form usaid ofda, build change build and trained a team of haitian construction professionals to provide technical assistance and training to government engineers, relief agency staff, local builders and homeowners. In, 2011, while efforts on that initial program were completed, build change began partnering with a large number of additional non-profit agencies working in the region to rebuild or retrofit houses damaged in the earthquake. In addition, build change provides technical training on earthquake resistant construction techniques to various non-profits, government officials, engineers, builders and homowners.
