Mission

Supporting organization to noble county community foundation, inc. - whose mission is to improve the quality of life in noble county by serving as a catalyst for positive change, enabling donors to carry out charitable intent and making grants.

Major Activities

Activity 2
There were four grants given to support non-profit groups in the city of ligonier, or which benefit those in the city of ligonier. One grant was given to leap of noble county, inc. A literacy program in the county, and the funds were used to subsidize the cost of transportation associated with the new dawn program at west noble school corp.; one grant was given to stones trace historical society to subsidize the cost of tearing down and rebuilding an 1849 log house built by the grambling family; one grant was given to life and family services, inc to support the ligonier site and continue to provide services to noble county residents. Funds will be used to purchase supplies for the babe store and operational expenses; and the last grant was to st. Patrick's church for demolition of a house and parking lot construction.
Activity 3
The two grants from the cape2 fund, whose mission was "to celebrate diversity by offering and supporting culturally related programs and services that enrich the lives of the resitions of noble county" ended in 2011. These grants were to place into the celebrate diversity fund in noble county community foundation, inc. Funds that were returned from other grant recipients after the program ended.

THE ORGANIZATION USES FIMS (FINANCIAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) SOFTWARE. ALL GRANTS ARE MONITORED AND TRACKED THROUGH THIS SOFTWARE. FILES ARE KEPT AND MAINTAINED FOR GRANT RECIPIENTS. FINAL REPORTS MUST BE FILED IN ORDER FOR FUTURE GRANTS TO BE MADE TO ORGANIZATIONS. WHEN REPORTS ARE FILED, IT IS ASCERTAINED THAT THE GRANT FUNDS WERE USED FOR THEIR INTENDED PURPOSES AND EVERYTHING WAS CORRECTLY ADMINISTERED AS WAS STATED IN THE GRANT APPLICATION. IT IS THEN DETERMINED WHETHER OR NOT THE GRANTEE IS ELIGIBLE FOR FUTURE GRANTS. UNTIL THEY ARE IN COMPLIANCE, FUTURE GRANTS ARE NOT CONSIDERED. WITH REGARD TO SCHOLARSHIPS, CRITERIA IS SET AND APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. A SIX MEMBER SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE MADE UP OF MEMBERS WHO REPRESENT ALL AREAS OF THE COUNTY REVIEW MOST APPLICATIONS. SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO MEET THE CRITERIA SET OUT TO BE ELIGIBLE.
