Financial Statement Notes

PART III, LINE 1A:

The organization maintains a diverse collection of numerous artifacts which reflect cultural and scientific history from around the world. The organization employs an executive director to ensure that the collection is protected and preserved. The organization does not capitalize donated collection items or recognize them as revenue or gains. Such donations need not be recognized if they are added to collections that are held for public exhibition, education, or research in furtherance of public service rather than financial gain; are protected, kept encumbered, cared for, and preserved; and are subject to a policy that reequires the proceeds from sales of collection items to be used to acquire other items for collections. It is the policy of the orgnanization that proceeds from the sale of any collection item are to be used to purchase additional collection items.
