During november 2015, samaritan regional health system was aquired by and became a subsidary of university hospitals health system inc. This action was considered beyond the control of the supporting organization. The foundation's mission continues to be to support the samaritan regional health system, but the foundation is in process of updating their organizing documents to be a 509(a)(3) type iii - functionally integrated organization. As of december 31, 2015 the organization is still a 509(a)(3) type i organization and will remain such until approval from the irs is received.”

Samaritan is the sole member of the foundation. Directors of the foundation board of directors hold office until the annual meeting of the foundation board in the year their service term as a director expires.”
