Interfaith caregivers program provides volunteer support to individuals and families facing significant challenges brought about by disability, dementia, chronic illness, or complication associated with the aging process. Care recipients and their families receive two to four hours, or more as needed, of service per week within the context of a caring, enduring friendship with the volunteer. Included in the menu of available services are: friendly visiting, transportation, respite, telephone reassurance, shopping and light home maintenance. The potential for services is open to identified needs, and the identification of volunteers to meet those needs. Most volunteers make a major difference for their assigned care recipients, and the program has fostered lasting friendships that can become as valuable to families as the services they receive. Initially care-recipients refer to their volunteers by name or "their volunteer", then as my friend, then many consider their volunteer a part o

Initially care-recipients refer to their volunteers by name or "their volunteer", then as my friend, then many consider their volunteer a part of their family, as do their family members. Interfaith caregivers program is unique because we do not have income or age restrictions. Agencies in summit county may offer some similiar services but most have age and/or income limits. The interfaith caregivers program provides a broad range of services the same as those provided by family, friends and neighbors. Our motto is "your neighbor's independence depends on you" in 2013 our volunteers provided a total of 5,330 units of service to 669 care receipients.”
“Wait for the care recipient at their medical appointments, assist with the grocery shopping and carry the groceries inside the care recipient's home.”
“Believe market value for a unit of service (average 3 hours equals one unit) is 75.00 per visit, or approximately 400,000 worth of transportation, chores, yard work, respite or friendly visits all within the context of friendship and respect.”
“The preparation of financial statements in conformity with the modified cash basis of accounting requires the organization to report information regarding its exposure to various tax positions taken by the organization. The organization has determined whether any tax positions have met the recognition threshold and has measured the organization's exposure to those tax positions. Management believes that the organization has adequately addressed all relevant tax positions and that there are no unrecorded tax liabilities. Federal and state tax authorities generally have the right to examine and audit the previous three years of tax returns filed.”

| IRS990/Desc | 0 | TRANSPORTATION SERVICES - INTERFAITH CAREGIVERS PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS PRIMARILY ASSIST THE ELDERLY POPULATION OF SUMMIT COUNTY WITH MAINTAINING THEIR INDEPENDENCE IN THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION TO ESSENTIAL NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. WITHOUT THIS TRANSPORTATION SERVICE MANY OF OUR ELDERLY CARE RECIPIENTS WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THEIR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, REDUCING THEIR LEVEL OF HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE. AS THE AGING POPULATION CONTINUES TO INCREASE THE NEED FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES OFFERED BY THE PROGRAM WILL ONLY CONTINUE TO RISE. IN 2013 OUR VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED OVER 1,100 UNITS OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES. WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE INTERFAITH CAREGIVERS PROGRAM IS THAT OUR VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE, WAIT FOR THE CARE RECIPIENT AT THEIR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, ASSIST WITH THE GROCERY SHOPPING AND CARRY THE GROCERIES INSIDE THE CARE RECIPIENT'S HOME. |

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | FRIENDLY VISIT PROGRAM - THIS PROGRAM HELPS SENIORS FEEL LESS ISOLATED IN THEIR OWN HOMES. SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE FRIENDLY VISIT PROGRAM INCLUDE RESPITE FOR THE PRIMARY CAREGIVER DECREASING CAREGIVER STRESS WITHIN THE FAMILY UNIT, LIGHT HOUSEHOLD CHORES, YARD CHORES, MINOR HOUSEHOLD REPAIRS, TELEPHONE REASSURANCE OR JUST VISITING WITH SOMEONE WHO IS ISOLATED. THE PEOPLE WE SERVE, PRIMARILY THE ELDERLY POPULATION, TOO OFTEN FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS FROM RECEIVING SERVICES FROM OTHER AGENCIES. THE INTERFAITH CAREGIVERS PROGRAM DOES NOT HAVE PREREQUISITES FOR SERVICE AS THERE ARE NOT ANY AGE OR INCOME RESTRICTIONS. IN 2013 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED 4,229 UNITS OF SERVICE TO CARE FOR RECIPIENTS THROUGH THE FRIENDLY VISIT PROGRAM. BECAUSE IT IS DIFFICULT TO ESTIMATE THE AVERAGE VALUE OF EACH SERVICE WE BELIEVE MARKET VALUE FOR A UNIT OF SERVICE (AVERAGE 3 HOURS EQUALS ONE UNIT) IS 75.00 PER VISIT, OR APPROXIMATELY 400,000 WORTH OF TRANSPORTATION, CHORES, YARD WORK, RESPITE OR FRIENDLY VISITS ALL WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF FRIENDSHIP AND RESPECT. |

| IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | THE PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE MODIFIED CASH BASIS OF ACCOUNTING REQUIRES THE ORGANIZATION TO REPORT INFORMATION REGARDING ITS EXPOSURE TO VARIOUS TAX POSITIONS TAKEN BY THE ORGANIZATION. FEDERAL AND STATE TAX AUTHORITIES GENERALLY HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXAMINE AND AUDIT THE PREVIOUS THREE YEARS OF TAX RETURNS FILED. |

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | INTERFAITH CAREGIVERS PROGRAM PROVIDES VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES FACING SIGNIFICANT CHALLENGES BROUGHT ABOUT BY DISABILITY, DEMENTIA, CHRONIC ILLNESS, OR COMPLICATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE AGING PROCESS. OUR MOTTO IS "YOUR NEIGHBOR'S INDEPENDENCE DEPENDS ON YOU" IN 2013 OUR VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 5,330 UNITS OF SERVICE TO 669 CARE RECEIPIENTS. |
