“The filing organization has both its financial statements and tax return prepared by an independent accountant. A copy of the prepared 990 is reviewed by the adult services director and one or more of our administrative staff members before the tax return is filed. Once no corrections are needed, the tax return is submitted. The financial statments are reviewed by the board and administration with the cpa from the independent accounting firm. If there are any questions, they would be asked at that time and if there were any adjustments needed, we would take the proper steps to amend the financial statement, and if necessary, the tax return as well at that time.”
