IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0THE VILLAGE NETWORK IS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, WELL BEING, AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH INTEGRATED DAY TREATMENT AND VARIOUS COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAMS. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED ITS COMMITMENT TO EARLY INTERVENTION AS EVIDENCED BY THE EXPANSION OF THESE PROGRAMS AND SERVING IN NEARLY 50 SCHOOL BASED PARTNERSHIPS, SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDING OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS. THIS INCLUDES SCHOOL BASED PROGRAMS IN WOOSTER, COLUMBUS, AKRON, CLEVELAND, CANTON, ORRVILLE, RITTMAN, YOUNGSTOWN, STEUBENVILLE, LANCASTER AND MARION AND BELMONT COUNTIES, WITH TVN WORKING COOPERATIVELY WITH LOCAL SCHOOL SYSTEMS TO BRING COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL BASED BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE TO YOUTHS MOST IN NEED. THE ORGANIZATION SERVED 4,596 YOUTH IN THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDING 78 PLACEMENTS IN A DIVERSION PROGRAM FOR YOUTH ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WHERE THE YOUTH ENTER A TVN TREATMENT FOSTER CARE HOME INSTEAD OF THE DETENTION CENTER; 329 IN A HOME BASED TREATMENT PROGRAM; AND 984 IN A RECEPTION CENTER/EVENING REPORTING/SHELTER CARE PROGRAM. THE RECEPTION CENTER RECEIVES ARRESTED YOUTH DIRECTLY FROM THE JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER AND/OR THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS. THE YOUTH ARE ASSESSED WHICH DETERMINES THE PRESCRIPTION OF SERVICES BASED ON IMPAIRMENT IN SOCIAL, FAMILY, OR ACADEMIC FUNCTIONING AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH DIAGNOSIS. TVN WAS AGAIN AWARDED A GRANT TO PROVIDE CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH AND OTHER THERAPEUTIC SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES PASSING THROUGH THE KNOX COUNTY JUVENILE COURT SYSTEMS. TVN WAS ALSO DEEMED A FLAGSHIP ORGANIZATION OF DR. BRUCE PERRY'S CHILD TRAUMA ACADEMY IN THE NEUROSEQUENTIAL MODEL OF THERAPEUTICS (NMT) IN EARLY 2015. THE NMT INTEGRATES SEVERAL CORE PRINCIPLES OF NEURODEVELOPMENT AND TRAUMATOLOGY INTO A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO THE CHILD, FAMILY, AND THEIR BROADER COMMUNITY. DR. PERRY EXPANDED NMT TO THE NEUROSEQUENTIAL MODEL OF EDUCATION (NME), A SET OF CORE CONCEPTS BASED ON THE BELIEF THAT EDUCATORS WHO ARE BETTER INFORMED ABOUT BRAIN DEVELOPMENT AND THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA WILL BECOME THE BEST CREATORS OF EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM INTERVENTIONS THAT WILL AID HEALING, LEARNING AND INTELLECTUAL ADVENTURE. THE VILLAGE NETWORK HAS BEGUN THE PROCESS OF TRAINING 65 TEACHERS THROUGHOUT OHIO IN THE NME FRAMEWORK.
