“Peer leadership development - this program provides youth, largely economically disenfranchised, with opportunities to develop and practice leadership and social action skills in a peer-led environment in order to become catalysts for change and to educate/enlighten fellow peers about relevant issues impacting youth including: healthy life choices; bullying, civic and social concerns; juvenile justice; hiv&std awareness and educational pathways. Youth are trained to co-facilitate workshops and become role models to their peers. Peer leaders have the opportunity for a term membership on the twp youth advisory board; h.i.p. Interns (horticulture internship program) is a paid internship for youth who display the desire to learn and the willingness to work hard at the care and development of the acre twp community garden space. The peer leadership development program also equips young people to take on the annual role of trained - paid leaders during the summer camp experience.”

INTERNS (HORTICULTURE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM) IS A PAID INTERNSHIP FOR YOUTH WHO DISPLAY THE DESIRE TO LEARN AND THE WILLINGNESS TO WORK HARD AT THE CARE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE ACRE TWP COMMUNITY GARDEN SPACE.
