The organization produces newspaper written by kids for kids. It prints 5 paper issues and 4 online issues. It's mailed and distributed 8000-1000 copies of each issue. It also produces a teacher's guide that helps educators and parents in discussing articles printed in the paper. The paper teaches yout to become engaged citizens through the production of a current event newspaper and website.

During the school year, in each cycle of the krp workshops, students research, draft, edit and revise articles abou the nation & world news, culture, history, activism, sports, the environment. The stories are published in either the print edition of indykids or online. Indykids hold five cycles of its three-part kid reporter program (krp) journalism workshop, which trains youths ages 9-15 in the new york city metro area critical media literacy, interviewing, pdcasting writing skills to produce a print newspaper distributed nationwide. During this period, indykids launched the first ever krp summer camp at the newmark graduate school of journalism at cuny. We accept between 10 and 15 students for each cycle of krp. This year, we trained a total of 80 students in the physical workshop.

THE STORIES ARE PUBLISHED IN EITHER THE PRINT EDITION OF INDYKIDS OR ONLINE. INDYKIDS HOLD FIVE CYCLES OF ITS THREE-PART KID REPORTER PROGRAM (KRP) JOURNALISM WORKSHOP, WHICH TRAINS YOUTHS AGES 9-15 IN THE NEW YORK CITY METRO AREA CRITICAL MEDIA LITERACY, INTERVIEWING, PDCASTING WRITING SKILLS TO PRODUCE A PRINT NEWSPAPER DISTRIBUTED NATIONWIDE. DURING THIS PERIOD, INDYKIDS LAUNCHED THE FIRST EVER KRP SUMMER CAMP AT THE NEWMARK GRADUATE SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AT CUNY. WE ACCEPT BETWEEN 10 AND 15 STUDENTS FOR EACH CYCLE OF KRP. THIS YEAR, WE TRAINED A TOTAL OF 80 STUDENTS IN THE PHYSICAL WORKSHOP.
