IRS990/Desc0Happy Howlidays - Happy Howlidays is our annual pet food collection drive. The mission of this community program is to improve conditions for homeless animals in transition, as well improving the lives of animals that are in the care of citizens that need help. This eighth run of this event. Our work with Happy Howlidays delivered 3,300 pounds of food and treats, as well as toys and beds from distributor and citizens donors. The food and supplies were divided and distributed to three beneficiaries: Bulldog Haven Northwest, King County Animal Shelter, and Yakima Valley Pet Rescue. Together these organizations annually serve approximately 5,900 cats and dogs. Dugan Foundation also donated 36 collection barrels to similar programs serving the state. The cash value of the donations is estimated at $11,000 in food and supplies. In-kind assistance including printing, graphic design and storage allowed this program to continue to run with minimal cash outlay. $247 is reserved for next fiscal years program costs.

This event is free to the public and attracted approximately 2,500 people. Twenty four vendors sold pet-related merchandise and services to pet owners while 31 rescue groups and non-profits came from around the state, with cats, dogs, and even reptiles for adoption. Ninety-seven animals were placed during the five-hour event. Net proceeds were held in reserve and distributed in March of the following fiscal year.
