The center for courage & renewal exists to nurture deep integrity and relational trust, building the foundation for a more loving, equitable, and healthy world. Through circle of trust retreats and other programs rooted in the courage & renewal approach we nurture supportive communities of reflection and practice to help people come alive with a renewed sense of purpose, build trustworthy relationships, and cultivate the courage to rise to today's challenges, making a difference within themselves and their communities.

Our programs nurture authentic leadership in education, ministry, healthcare, and other serving professionals.

IRS990/Desc0Leadership (All Core Programs): Our mission is served by preparing and supporting facilitators who lead programs for professionals in education, ministry, healthcare, and other sectors. Our network of 280 facilitators provided some 300 programs serving 6000+ participants over FY 17-18. The Center launched its sixth year of our Academy for Leaders program in three different locations serving 70 cross-professional leaders. Our 10th and 11th Courage to Lead for Young Leaders and Activists served another 50 professionals under the age of 40. The Center also launched a new leadership program for business executives called Touchstone serving 20 leaders. Our Facilitator Preparation Program prepared 18 new facilitators. Our Clergy programs served over 120 faith leaders from around North America.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Clergy: Our programs provide spiritual formation for clergy and congregational leaders and help these leaders find balance between their personal and professional lives. As they lead from a place of greater authenticity, healthier and more vibrant faith communities are nurtured. During 2017-18, the Center offered three signature programs - the Geography of Grace (28 participants) and the Soul of Aging Alumni Institutes (26 participants) to implement Circle of Trust practices in their congregations and Habits of the Heart for healthy congregations (91 participants) to increase clergy leadership vitality. We have continued to work with young clergy and faith leaders through our Courage to Lead for clergy and faithful innovators. In addition, we support the preparation of clergy facilitators.

Our signature program for school leaders, "Leading Together: Building Adult Community in Schools," has been found to produce measurable positive results in schools. We have secured funding and initial partnerships and have hired new staff to scale this program up in support of K-12 schools across the US.
