Activity 2

Schools: We help build relational trust among adults in school communities in order to improve school functioning and student learning. Launched Courage in Schools (CiS) to grow our ongoing work with pre-K to college educators. Designed and piloted "Courageous Schools: Teaching & Leading in Tough Times," a one-day workshop for K-12 professionals. Over 150 educators participated in the first two of a series of workshops. Began to pilot our signature program "Leading Together: Building the Adult Community in Schools." The initial cohort involved 40 participants from 10 school teams serving diverse student bodies. Contracted with a recognized university researcher to develop a logic model to evaluate this program. Launched CourageInSchools.org blog to help share success stories and lessons learned by using our approach.

Activity 3

Clergy: Our programs provide spiritual formation for clergy and congregational leaders and help these leaders find balance between their personal and professional lives. As they lead from a place of greater authenticity, healthier and more vibrant faith communities are nurtured. During 2011, we launched 14 programs ranging from one-day introductory programs to year-long seasonal retreat series, that served approximately 600 clergy and lay leaders. 5 clergy/lay leaders completed their first year of facilitator preparation, and six attended the "Gateway" retreat preceding the 2012 facilitator selection process. Planning began for 19 program offerings for clergy and congregational leaders in 2012. We increased the visibility of our programs through a print/online advertising campaign that began in 2012.
