“Downtown Associated Youth Services (dba DAYS Long Beach) is committed to improving the quality of life for children and their families. DAYS Long Beach has been a mainstay in the Long Beach community since 1970. As a trusted resource to the community, we provide youth with opportunities to grow academically and personally through educational, leadership and character development programs. Our services allow students to practice skills they have learned in the classroom, increase their desire to learn, and build positive relationships within the community. Through our extensive partnerships and collaborations, DAYS Long Beach is able to offer numerous services that affect the daily lives of the youth and their families. For many of the youth we serve, DAYS is a lifeline to changing their lives and becoming productive and confident young adults.Many of our programs are made accessible through transportation assistence, launguage support and translation, and by remaining free of charge for all participants. DAYS Long Beach provides programming in the following three areas: 1. Youth Education and Development: ---Our After School Program provides tutoring and learning assistance, computer learning and support, leadership development, and arts & creative learning classes. ---B.E.S.A.F.E. provides mentoring, leadership development and educational activities in a safe environment. --Summer Day Camp is our six-week program that provides hands-on education, cultural heritage awareness, community safety, arts & science, and health & fitness programs.2.
