THE FOUNDATION FURTHERS THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN BY SPONSORING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, WHICH OTHERWISE WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE.$106,571-
Elective Rotation: The Elective Rotation allowed 600 students to experience Music & Technology (Mac Lab), that they normally would not get an opportunity to experience without the Foundation's support. In Tech class, students learn valuable research, keyboarding, and presentation skills that prepare them for State standardized testing (SBAC) and technical skills for middle and high school. The Music class allows students a creative outlet to sing and perform in front of their peers and families. There are culminating activities/performances at the end of the year for all students in the form of performances (e.g. Promotion, 3rd grade recorder performance).Chromebooks were instrumental in bringing technology directly into the classroom and allowing students to interact with their peers and teachers digitally through "Google Classroom" by exchanging, reviewing and editing documents. Each grade level K-6 used the chromebooks two days per week and many teachers converted their classroom assignments into a "digital ecosystem," which is primary accessed with the chromebooks. Our Foundation was also instrumental in purchase Keyboarding without Tears, a typing program for our Kindergarten students and purchased "Tynker", a video game programmimg component.Classroom Technology Upgrades:The Education Foundation was responsible for upgrading 4 classrooms on campus with new LCD Projectors, Document cameras and digital connections for computers.--
Art 4 Kids:600 students took part in a yearlong art program coordinated by an outside consultant to learn about multiple art media. At the end of the program, all of the students who participated in the program had a positive experience and entered their projects into the LA County Fair with 18 1st place winners and 80 2nd & 3rd place finalists.--
Math Olympiad Team 40 students in grades 4-6 participated in the MOT program. The teams final ranking put them in the top 10% of teams ranked nationally and placed 2nd in the Regional Math Field Day competition. The Wittmann Foundation is responsible for buying textbooks and paying coaches' salaries.--
6th grade camp:The standard 5-day outdoor science school program runs like a typical school week. During this week students learn about botany, geology, astronomy, meteorology and the water cycle, ecology, habitats and adaptations, energy and conservation in an outdoor school setting. Each science activities unit is based on the State Board of Education Science Framework. The kids receive school credit for participating in this exciting outdoor science camp program. Their normal classroom teachers accompany the students on this science camp for kids trip which creates some wonderful bonding opportunities.--
