Homeless prevention and emergency assistance programs - with people losing jobs at an unprecedented rate, the number of families, in financial crisis skyrocketed. In some cases, eviction can be avoided entirely with a relatively small amount of financial assistance in subsidized rent, our use of the food pantry to help offset food costs and save money for rent or mortgage, use of career coaching to find a job and other similar services. Additionally, seasonal programs such as backpacks and school supplies, thanksgiving dinner, supplies and support during the holidays are provided. Approximately 9,093 individuals were served in this program throughout the year. Total expenses associated with this program including donated services totaled $1,248,902. Donated food and other items utilized in this program included in the expense amount listed and functional expense statement totaled $602,942. Donated services utilized in the program and excluded from the expense amount and functional expense statement totaled $4,000.

Activity 3

Rapid re-housing - in an innovative partnership with several area apartment communities, we make apartments available to house homeless families under a program we term as "rapid re-housing." families in this program receive subsidized rent. The subsidy is split between the apartment community and families forward. The program is designed so that families return to paying market rent by the 12th month. Wrap-around services like case management, counseling, food and career coaching and seminars are included as needed by clients. 45 families were served in this program. Total expenses associated with this program including donated use of facilities totaled $460,967. Donated furniture, food, gift cards and other items utilized in this program included in the expense amount listed and functional expense statement totaled $2,625. Donated use of facilities (discounted rent) utilized in the program and excluded from the expense amount and functional expense statement totaled $92,254.
