OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: In order to inspire meaningful contributions to the community, local area businesses are committing to giving back 1% of their gross revenues to make a significant impact to the health and well being of the place we call home. In the first year of the Funds existence, a minimum of 25% of the 1% pledge will be pooled and leveraged in order to make movement-building and long-term investments to help alleviate our communitys most pressing concerns. The La Plata Impact Fund seeks to be a change agent, driving funds to where they can make the biggest difference.

These professionals put their health and lives at risk daily for our community, but the stakes of their risk and the associated additional stress at this time have never been higher. At the same time, local independent restaurants, one of the core elements that makes this community so amazing to live in and visit, are suffering from the devastating economic impact of the virus. Local First has implemented a program created by one of the countrys foremost chefs and restaurateurs that lets the community donate meals from local restaurants to healthcare workers on the frontlines. Healthcare workers get a nourishing meal, and local restaurants get badly needed business to keep running and keep staff employed. Win! Win! Win! The third win is our community, since we all benefit from supporting our healthcare heroes, and helping small businesses rebound so theyre there for us when this is over.
