| There Is No Limit Inc. continued community outreach across its programs. The organization also organized and participated in high-level events to raise awareness about its work and core human rights issues such as the need to end female genital mutilation. Below is a sample of activities in 2019: (1) The Co-Founder Aissata M.B. Camara gave opening remarks at the United Nations Headquarters to commemorate The International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation and the opening of the 68 Million At Risk exhibition in collaboration with Dysturb and the UNICEF-UNFPA Joint Programme to end female genital mutilation. (2) The organization conducted its annual Break The Silence Week, a week dedicated to raising awareness and driving action to end female genital mutilation worldwide. (3) To commemorate Women History Month and the United Nations 63rd Commission on the Status of Women (CSW63), There Is No Limit Foundation held a screening of DW's Digital Warriors documentary that features Co-Founder Aissata M.B. Camara at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations. The screening was followed by a Q+A moderated by the Permanent Representative of Germany, Ambassador Christoph Heusgen. It also featured the directors of the documentary and activists. (4) Co-Founder Aissata M.B. Camara was nominated for 120 Under 40: The New Generation of Family Planning Leaders. 120 Under 40 is a project of the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with support from Bayer. Its goal is to highlight the "positive disruptions" made by young leaders in family planning and to enable others to build on their success. (5) Co-Founder Mariama M. Petrolawicz shared her story at TEDxLisbon in Portugal which included highlights about There Is No Limit Inc. and its impact. (6) Co-Founder Aissata M.B. Camara took part in a roundtable discussion at Columbia University of the work the organization is doing through the Break The Silence Campaign to end female genital mutilation. (7) Co-Founder Aissata M.B. Camara attended the Women Deliver four-day conference in Vancouver, Canada. Women Deliver is "the world's largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights, and the wellbeing of girls and women." There Is No Limit Foundation and partners co-hosted a preconference, "Uniting forces to make female genital mutilation/cutting a practice of the past: A gathering for global civil society actors" that involved more than one hundred attendees and more than 270 additional participants shared their expertise and experience through an online survey. (8) Co-Founder Aissata M.B. Camara attended the three-day Thomson Reuters Foundation's Trust Conference in London, UK in which she was chosen as one of the changemakers. The Trust Conference is the Thomson Reuters Foundation's "flagship annual event and a leading human rights forum." She shared information about our work to promote human rights. (9) During the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), There Is No Limit Foundation held three side events: (1) Eradicate FGM, a panel discussion with MALA and Kota Alliance that discussed the best practices used to fight female genital mutilation and highlighted the world's commitment to end this practice as part of the Sustainable Development Goals; (2) Shake Things Up - A Forum by Youth for Youth with the African Union Office of the Youth Envoy. Shake Things Up - A Forum by Youth for Youth" was a youth dialogue focused on identifying challenges and solutions to critical issues facing youth. It was also an opportunity to develop youth driven action plans. Participants determined milestones for climate action and ending violence against women and girls in the lead up to ICPD+25, Beijing+25, UNGA 2020 and Agenda 2063. We wanted to ensure the voices of youth were strongly heard and translated into action, as the UNGA looks at the progress made towards Agenda 2030. The event also featured an Inter-generational Dialogue with two African leaders from the United Nations; (3) Break The Silence Awards Ceremony: Accelerating Change to Achieve SDG5: Gender Equity. This event raised awareness about female genital mutilation and the commitment made worldwide to end this practice under SDG5: Achieve Gender Equality and Empower All Women and Girls. The event also linked ending violence against women to decent work and economic growth (SDG 8) and climate Action (SDG 13) as part of our work on FGM Economics. Finally, we announced the recipients of the 2019 Break The Silence Awards. The event was attended by high-level guests including the First Lady of Burkina Faso. (10) The Director of Programs and Evaluations attended the three-day ICPD+25 conference in Nairobi, Kenya to raise awareness about our work and to link our efforts to the global discourse. (11) There Is No Limit Foundation carried out its annual #16DaysOfActivism online campaign. #16DaysOfActivism is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs annually from November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to December 10th, Human Rights Day. (12) TINLF held a screening of DW Digital Warriors at NYU Deutsches Haus. The screening was followed by a Q+A with Co-Founder Aissata M.B. Camara and fellow activist Masih Alinejad moderated by Radha Hegde, NYU Professor of Media, Culture and Communications. | $0 | $31,457 |
