Mission and Program Overview
Mission
Discovere is a coalition providing every student with a shared stem experience and the resources, programs, and connections to improve the understanding of engineering through a united voice and a global distribution network. Discovere helps stakeholders expand community and educational outreach by: providing resources and turnkey programs for employees and volunteers; supporting strong career connected learning initiatives; promoting positive visibility within the engineering and technology communities, including college students and the public-at-large. Discovere, with its working coalition of 100+ organizations, is known as one of the most effective collaborations today, recognized by corporations and engineering societies and mentioned in two reports by the national academy of engineering.
Major Activities
- Activity 2
- Educational outreach - dissemination of information in schools (grades k-12) and other public venues, including information about careers in engineering and demonstrations by volunteer engineers of engineering tasks. Examples of outreach program are the introduce a girl to engineering day program, which reaches an estimated one million k-12 girls, the new faces of engineering program, which highlights the accomplishments of engineers under 30 years old, and the discover engineering family day, during which 29 organizations provided educational exhibits with hands-on activities promoting engineering.
