Member communications:changed publishers, revised format and timing of a la carte, the ora member publication which provides valuable information to members. Continued to offer bonus coverage of the publication online via the new ora web site. Published two theme issues of interest to members. Published new bites, the weekly e-newsletter for ora members. News bites carries news and information of a timely nature that cannot wait for publication in a la carte. Developed new website with enhanced member resource sections. Began communicating with members via social media, i.e., facebook and twitter.continued media relations efforts to bring more attention to member businesses around four major holidays of the year (valentine's day, easter, mother's day, thanksgiving).continued partnerships with several groups that can heighten travel and tourism awareness in and around ohio which translates into more business for ora members, including ohio tourism division, aaa, convention and visitors bureaus and the international culinary tourism association.

Member advocacy:help stop mandated ignition interlock proposal.played critical roll in bank/credit card fee transparency regulations.advocate for national nutrition information standardization.helped defeat check card legislation.helped keep new business taxes/fees out of state budget.workers' compensation-worked with a business coalition to fight for continued discounts for members in ora's group rating program.smoking ban exemptions-continued to stall persistent efforts to add exemptions to the statewide smoking ban that would create competitive disadvantages for most members. Built relationships-strengthened ora's relationships with state regulatory agencies and among allied interest groups which will expand the industry's political influence.
