Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

The officers of the board of directors are elected by voting network members of each member congregation each year at the Annual Assembly typically in November.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7B

Each member congregation is invited to appoint one to two representatives to the BREAD Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets at least 8 times each year and is responsible for the governance and financial stability of the organization.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The Finance Committee reviews the 990 as well as monthly finance statements to determine financial procedures are being followed.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The Board of Directors appoint a finance commitee and personnel committee to recommend financial and staffing decisions to the board. The Personnel Committe evaluates the work of the Lead Organizer three times each year and recommends salary adjustments for all staff to the Finance Committee. The evaluation is conducted based on standards developed by the Direct Action and Training Center. Salary and benefits for all employees have been developed in line with DART's compensation guidlines.

All governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are provided to the board of directors and can be made available upon request to the Lead Organizer or Co-Presidents of the Organization.

The Board of Directors meets at least 8 times each year and is responsible for the governance and financial stability of the organization.

The Personnel Committe evaluates the work of the Lead Organizer three times each year and recommends salary adjustments for all staff to the Finance Committee. The evaluation is conducted based on standards developed by the Direct Action and Training Center. Salary and benefits for all employees have been developed in line with DART's compensation guidlines.
