Mission

The mission of house of bread is to prevent hunger and build community. To this end, we serve a free, hot, nutritious lunch every day of the year. The house of bread also provides its guests with referrals to other community services that may help improve their situations.

Our mission is to prevent hunger for thousands of people by a daily offering of free, hot, nutritious lunchtime meals.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The house of bread is an ohio not-for-profit corporation, exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The organization follows authoritative guidance related to the accounting for uncertain tax positions. The new guidance prescribes a comprehensive model for recognizing, measuring, presenting, and disclosing in the financial statements tax positions taken or expected to be taken on information and tax returns, including the positions that the organization is exempt from income taxes or not subject to income taxes on unrelated business income. Management concluded that there are no material uncertain tax positions as of june 30, 2017 and 2016, and, accordingly, there is no adjustment to the financial statements required to comply with the provisions of this guidance.
