IN NOVEMBER OF 2021, WE RETURNED TO OUR FIRST IN-PERSON MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION WITH COMMON THREADS: INTERWOVEN PORTRAITS OF A PANDEMIC." THIS PRODUCTION RAN FOR TWO WEEKS AND CONSISTED OF 6 SHORT PLAYS BASED ON INTERVIEWS WITH VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES DURING THE YEAR 2020. THESE HYBRID PIECES INVOLVED BOTH DIGITAL STORYTELLING AND LIVE PERFORMANCE, AND WERE PRODUCED AT THE KY CENTER FOR THE ARTS. IN APRIL OF 2022, WE PRODUCED A WEEKEND OF PUBLIC PERFORMANCES OF OUR INTERACTIVE THEATRE PIECES THAT HELP CHILDREN AND TEENS RESIST BULLYING. “In fall of 2021, we produced a retrospective performance in celebration of our 20th anniversary. Entitled the candle burns on, the performance was produced at the c. Douglass ramey ampitheatre in louisville's historic central park. In november of 2021, we returned to our first in-person mainstage production with common threads: interwoven portraits of a pandemic." this production ran for two weeks and consisted of 6 short plays based on interviews with various individuals about their experiences during the year 2020. These hybrid pieces involved both digital storytelling and live performance, and were produced at the ky center for the arts. In april of 2022, we produced a weekend of public performances of our interactive theatre pieces that help children and teens resist bullying. Using theatre of the oppressed techniques, even puppets have problems (for grades k-2), mac's world (grades 3-5) and choices (grades 6-12) are performed in schools and community centers year-round, and this weekend gave public audiences a unique opportunity to experience this work.”
“From september through august, we conducted 20 weeks of after school drama programming, 6 weeks of in school residencies, both in person and virtually, serving over 991 students. Also in june, july, and august, we conducted 8 weeks of full-time summer drama and theatre programming for girls and gender non-binary youth.”
