Gambiarising Charitable Trust

GambiaRising provides opportunities to impoverished Gambians to better themselves through their own work - primarily through scholarships and financial assistance to Gambian students who otherwise might not be able to stay in school. We work in all regions of the country, but with a focus on remote rural regions, with all ages of students, without regard to religion, gender, or tribal background. Our only criteria are character and need, and the amount of difference that our support will make in recipients' lives. We focus most of our work on keeping students in school, especially girls at the higher grades. We also supported several Gambian schools through physical improvements, donation of learning materials and technology, and funding additional training for their teachers. We supported several local infrastructure projects, including water system/well construction, and supported the improvement of a rural health clinic.

We have also funded construction of several rural schools, and supported other Gambian schools through physical improvements, donation of learning materials and technology, and funding additional training for their teachers. We also supported several local infrastructure projects, including the improvement of rural health clinics and replacing or repairing village and school wells.
